When inspecting a backflow preventer, our goal is always to achieve a passing certification through maintenance and repair. Likewise, if we are dealing with a freeze-damaged backflow preventer or other problem, we will not recommend you replace a backflow preventer unless the repair cost will outweigh replacement. We will consult with you if we feel this action is needed.
